I am counting on your support of the Rhode Island Corporate Scholarship Tax Credit Program.  As my elected official, I trust that you will champion a program that promotes quality educational opportunities for families in need and helps build an educated workforce.

Since the program's inception in 2006, between 300 and 500 financially disadvantaged students each year have been able to attend a school of their choice thanks to the support of the Rhode Island business community.  While the $1 million in available tax credits has helped some students, there are many more families across the state who could serve to benefit from the program - and businesses who want to support them.

Please approve the increase in the Corporate Scholarship Tax Credit cap in the  FY2011 Budget.  Students and parents know best what educational environment works best for them - but for many, having a choice simply is not possible.  Please support expanded opportunities so those families can pursue educational excellence!
